But it wasn’t the sun. Deadly knew for sure. He went everywhere around the world warning them, but when a dinosaur laughed at Deadly he lost his temper and ate them, until one day there was only three dinosaurs left. Deadly went and asked the three and they said they believed him, so he didn’t eat them. He made friends with them and together they tried to work out a way to get rid of the big eye, that was getting bigger by the day. What Deadly didn’t realise was that the big eye was a comet, heading straight for DinoLand, better known as Earth. He might not have known what it was but knew they had to do something about it. He asked his three new friends, Fire, Gliber and Long Luke, what they should do. Each had a different idea. Long Luke the brachiosaurus reckoned they should all shut their eyes and wish the big eye away. Twelve hours later… “Let’s see if it’s gone,” said Deadly. They all opened their eyes and looked up but it was still there. “Darn it!” shouted Fire, with disappointment. “Hey, turn those frowns upside down – I’ve got an idea,” said Gliber. “But it involves you, Fire.” “Awww, man,” replied Fire, frowning. “Listen, if it’s something that could save our lives then you’ve got to do it,” said Deadly encouragingly. “Okay,” replied Fire, frowning still. “We’ll put you on a tree bent back like a catapult, let you go, and fire you up to the big eye. You can tell it not to look at us. Okay?” “Okay.” They set it up. “Ready? Setty?” “Yep.” “GO!” “WhoooooAAAAAAAA!” Bang! Fire hit a cliff face and fell back down onto his spiny back. “Well that didn’t work so well,” groaned Long Luke. That night there was a lightning storm. A lightning strike hit a tree and started a fire. Deadly woke, grabbed a burning branch, and ran around the world setting everything on fire. This made a heap of smoke so the big eye could not see the Earth. But as soon as the smoke covered the whole Earth, the comet hit the planet right near where the last four dinosaurs were sleeping. As quick as you could read this sentence, a piece of rock broke off the comet and squashed the dinosaurs. And that’s why they are now extinct. The End.

Deadly, the T Rex, was wandering around looking for something to eat, even though he wasn’t that hungry and had actually lost his appetite. He knew there was something wrong, but wasn’t sure what. It was like a big round eye somewhere in the night sky had been watching him for three days, and it was getting closer. Each time he tried to tell another dinosaur about it, they laughed at him and told him he was mad. They couldn’t see anything in the sky and reckoned it was just the sun that Deadly could see.
